This short video was taken during a showcase at Equitana where Manolo Mendez and Josh Lyons, son of legendary western trainer John Lyons, each representing western and dressage training respectively, first showed each other what their horses could do, and then swapped horses and discipline - all for the sake of good fun.
Please note that Josh Lyons travelled from the USA and is not riding a horse he trained himself but a borrowed one, whereas Manolo is on his own horse as he lives outside of Melbourne.
The white horse is Dinamico, an Andi stallion, proudly owned by Alex and Sandra Wolfe. Alex and Sandra own Wolfe Civil - http://wolfecivil.com.au/ - and are sponsors of Manolo and partners in Wolfemen Stallions.
The little red horse is either a quarter horse or an australian stock horse owned and trained by David Simon (spell?).
Josh did a great job with Dinamico's spanish walk and three legged pirouette - keeping Dinamico engaged and up and open.
Dinamico trains at home in a snaffle and more rarely in the double.
