Man sentenced in rape of two young girls

Reported by: Gary Sinderson BELLEFONTE, Pa. -- A Centre County man will spend at least 50 years behind bars for the repeated sexual abuse of two young girls. Eric Crader, of Pleasant Gap, was sentenced Tuesday morning in Centre County Court after originally being charged with over 1,000 criminal charges. It was a short day in court for Crader but the outcome means a long prison sentence --50 to 100 years in jail. A few months ago Crader entered multiple guilty pleas and Tuesday‚„s sentence followed the plea agreement. Crader had little to say in court but he did mumble something about how doing the right thing can be difficult. The judge told Crater, ‚“Nothing good comes from this case.‚ One the five main counts of rape of a child, Crader was given 10 to 20 years for each count to run consecutively, totaling the 50 to 100 years sentence. In July Crader pleaded guilty to more than 200 criminal counts and the details spelled out by police in the criminal documents are horrific, including two girls talking about sexual abuse that at times occurred every single day, occurring over a two-year span between 2011 and 2013. The investigation of Crader began when one of the young victims first told a school counselor last year.
