I got a bunch of reclaimed rough oak that was used as dunnage for flatbed trailers hauling materials.
So I decided to make a laminated shelf for my Man Cave T.V. (ie. my Shop) It had to be strong to support the weight of the T.V.
I drilled it out so I could run 1/2 inch threaded rod through each piece. Then attached a header on the wall and steel braided cable to hold the shelf and support the weight. It measures about 54 inches in length, 13 inches deep by 1 1/4 inches thick.
