2 cups Makhana (Lotus seeds)
½ cup almonds (badam)
½ cup cashew nuts (kaju)
¼ cup watermelon seeds (magaz)
2 to 3 tbsp pistachios (pista)
½ cup dry coconut cut into small pieces
½ cup powdered sugar
3 tsp ghee
1 tsp cardamom powder (elaichi powder)
Almonds, pista and cashew slivers for garnishing
Dried rose petals for garnishing
Method
Heat 2 tsp ghee in a pan. Add the makhanas and roast till they turn crispy. Remove and keep it aside. Add another teaspoon of ghee and roast coconut. Remove and keep it aside. Add, almonds, cashewnuts, watermelon seeds and pistachios. Saute and roast well. Allow all the roasted ingredients to cool down. Transfer all the roasted ingredients to a mixer jar. Blend them to a coarse powder. In a mixing bowl, add the ground powder. Add powdered sugar, cardamom powder and mix well. Garnish with almond, cashew, pista slivers and dried rose petals. You can offer this as bhog, serve it as prasad or store it and have it as a nutritional supplement.
