Major AF problem rant on Sigma 35mm F1.4 Art DG Lens For Sony FE Mount

I indeed got a defective lemon 35mm F1.4 ART for Sony FE that had a failed AF motor. Update: This morning's shoot the 35mm continued to experience non-functioning AF (this time on the A7R III). The 85mm on A7 III however performed flawlessly the entire shoot (I may have incorrectly recalled 85mm having the same issue) . I'm suspecting that the 35mm I've received is defective, I'm sending my 35mm back for a replacement unit. I will test again when my replacement arrives. I got the 35mm and 85mm Art F1.4 FE mount the day they are released and in stock, and I'm having serious buyer's remorse, I want to return all of them and get the Zeiss Batis or Sony Lenses.. The Sigma Art for Sony FE all exhibits AF hunting issue in AF-S mode, and during today's shoot the AF system totally quit working all together in either AF-S or AF-C, half press shutter the lens just refuses to lock on to any objects and also locks the shutter button, tried Eye AF, same thing... Leaving me acting like an idiot in front of my clients. The issue is persistent on both 85mm and 35mm and it happened both on my A7 III. I switched the lens from A7 III to A7R3 and was not able to produce the problem during the shoot, so I suspect the issue is only with A7 III at this point. But further test will be necessary to determine if this is an issue affecting other Sony A series cameras or just A7 III. The Sony 12-24mm G and 70-200mm G Master all focused fantastically during the shoot, no complains... I think you really get what you pay for in this case. Get Sony Lens if you can!
