Vaishno Devi is a manifestation of the Hindu Goddess Durga. Popularly known as Mata Rani, Vaishnavi and Trikuta.Maa Vaishno Devi Ji resides in a Holy Cave which is in a natural rock form with three heads at the top. These three heads are known as the Holy Pindies and are worshipped as the revelation of the Mata maha kali, mata maha lakshmi and maa Saraswati.Located in Trikuta hills, 13kms from Katra, It is believed that during the pooja and aarti, Goddesses arrive at the Holy cave to pay their respect to Mata Rani. The 'Aarti' of the Goddess is performed twice a day first time in the morning just before the sunrise and second time in the evening immediately after the sunset.The Pujaris perform 'Aarti' before the holy deity first inside the sanctum- sanctorum and than outside the cave.
