Lift - Kinetic art sculpture by Jennifer Townley

Kinetic art piece of Jennifer Townley. Eight gears are driven by a long chain with a constant speed. The rotational speed of the gears and the required length of the chain vary because the axes of the gears are not in the middle. One gear carries a dish with copper weights to ensure that the chain remains tense. The whole is driven by a large drive wheel and a leather strap.
