He released some forty albums over this period, composing the music and the majority of the lyrics. He released many hit singles, particularly between 1960 and the mid-seventies. Some of his songs have become classics of the French chansonrepertoire, such as Avec le temps, C'est extra or Jolie Môme.. Léo Albert Charles Antoine Ferré est un auteur-compositeur-interprète, pianiste et poète franco-monégasque. Ayant réalisé plus d'une quarantaine d'albums originaux couvrant une période d'activité de 46 ans, Léo Ferré est à ce jour le plus prolifique auteur-compositeur-interprète de la chanson française. D'une culture musicale classique, il dirige à plusieurs reprises des orchestres symphoniques, en public ou à l'occasion d'enregistrements discographiques. Léo Ferré se revendiquait anarchiste ; ce courant de pensée inspire grandement son œuvre.
