A Russian action hero who shot at Ukrainian military positions in Donetsk while wearing a ‘press helmet’ has been banned from Latvia. The country’s foreign affairs minister Edgars Rinkevics said Mikhail Porechenkov had undermined the principles of international law by firing the automatic weapon from insurgent positions towards the city’s airport.
In a YouTube video uploaded last week, the famous Russian actor says he made the visit to demonstrate Russia’s backing for the anti-Ukrainian insurgency in the easternmost regions of Donetsk and Luhansk - a conflict which has now claimed over 4,000 lives.
