I was lucky enough to be invited on the inaugural Mauiva AirCruise East, from June 1 to June 3 (a sample trip which is shorter than the normal full itinerary). This is a new kind of vacation which offers travel in private aircraft from smaller airports (no TSA security hassles), all bags transferred directly to your hotel without you having to pick them off a baggage carousel, private coaches for ground transfers to take you to see loads of attractions, and deluxe accommodations with meals and gratuities included -- all for less than you would expect to pay for doing the trip yourself by car. If you did the package as a coach trip it would take many, many hours of travel and you wouldn't have time to see nearly as much. The aircraft that Mauiva used for is inaugural AirCruise East was a Fairchild Dornier 328JET, registered N328T and chartered from Cleveland-based Charter Air Transport. I can safely say that flying from Landmark Aviation FBO facilities throughout the trip, without having to go through any TSA security checkpoints, really beats flying on airlines using commercial terminals! The luxury coaches that Mauiva chartered for the ground transfers also easily beat ordinary coaches for comfort.
