Lancashire won the toss and put the Panthers into bat first. After a rain delayed start which reduced the match to 16 overs a side, Dawid Malan got off to a great start for the Panthers, but lost his opening partner, Denly (7) in the 7th over with the score on 33, and Stirling shortly after. After Malan (48) was out with 5 overs remaining with the score on 67-3, wickets continued to fall as the Panthers attempted to play their shots to every ball. The Panthers ended their stop-start innings on 97-8 & with duckworth/lewis, the Lightning were set 103 to win. They didn't get off to a great start, losing their 1st wicket before a run had been scored and in the 4th over were 16-2. After another short rain delay the Lightning had their required score adjusted to 97 off 15 overs. They reached this, winning the match by 7 wickets with 10 balls to spare.
