ZZ Top and Billy Gibbons were huge influences on me. I discovered them when "Rio Grande Mud" came out and I was just starting to play guitar in 1970. I got to see them support that record at a concert in Albuquerque New Mexico. It was just the band and their Marshall stacks, which, if I remember correctly were renamed "Rio Grande" amps, and outfitted with steer horns.
