Cold Steel Kobun Tanto Boot knife: Blade Length: 5 .25" Overall Length: 9 7/8" Steel: Japanese AUS 8A Stainless Weight: 4.4 oz Handle: 4 .75" Long Kraton Sheath: Secure-Ex Sheath COM: Tawian Some years ago, when I began to carry a fixed knife as a more constant companion, I noticed the Kobun. After only a short time carrying it, however, I noticed some significant setbacks with the design in my intended role of utility/survival companion. Pros: Light weight, slim grip, sharp out of box, good balance. Cons: Poor control in utility functions due to tip config. No fault of the knife however, as it specializes in being a back up knife I suspect from the "boot knife" label. Overall, I really like the knife and it is a great value for the price tag of around $40 currently.
