For many years he was a member of Uzbekistan and Soviet Union National team and represented his country at international competitions. After, he became one of the coaches who founded a judo department at the professional College of Olympic reserve, where they start to produces world's top athletes. Before leaving Uzbekistan Alim was a Tashkent regional coach (equaled to a provincial coach). Sensei Alim has been coaching in Canada since 2007. During this time his students received 6 medals at Senior National Championships (2 gold, 2 silver, 2 bronze); 5 medals at Junior National Championships (1 gold 1 silver 3 bronze) and 1 gold medal at Cadets Nationals. His students also brought medals from many international competitions in France, Poland, Turkey, Finland, Belarus, Uzbekistan, El Salvador, USA and Latvia, as well as were named athletes of the year in provinces of Saskatchewan and Quebec. Education: Bachelor degree in physical education and sport (with specialisation in judo) from Tashkent State Institute of Physical Education.
