Kill Alex Cross

James talks about the latest installment of the best-selling detective series, and the new Alex Cross movie! The new Alex Cross movie started filming at the end of the summer, and you spent some time on the set. How’s it looking? I think it’s looking great. Tyler Perry is gonna blow people’s mind. There’s a scene that we just shot that everybody in the set was crying. And that’s very unusual with the thriller, when you find, wind up shedding a tear in the middle of the thriller, you know it’s very different. The director Rob Cohen has done some terrific action movies. He did the original Fast and the Furious, he did Triple X so he’s very good with the action stuff. Matthew Fox from lost, he already is a big star but this is gonna make him even bigger. Ed Burns is great in the thing, Cicely Tyson, it’s a terrific cast. I think it’s gonna be a movie that we’re all very proud of and you’re gonna love watching. What’s Alex up against in the new book, KILL ALEX CROSS? In the new book, there are two big things happening in Washington and Alex is involved in both of them and neither one of them are very nice. Some terrorists have entered the city and they have done such undelightful things as poisoning the water supply and at the same time and possibly connected, the President’s two kids are missing so Alex is really up to his ears and in getting involved in the two cases the villains has decide that Alex has to be taken out. What makes a villain worth to face off against Alex Cross? I think, you know to really come up with Alex Cross you be interesting to the reader, I think the villains have to be clever and smart and unpredictable. I think the most important thing is you just dont know what they’re gonna do next, because you always know there’s a good chance although you never know at the end of the, at the end of the book, Alex will be standing and they won’t be but I can’t promise you at this time. What is the most important trait that has kept Alex Cross alive through so many dangerous cases? Alex believes in his creator and his creator loves Alex so I think that’s one of the things with respect to Alex. He’s been lucky, he’s probably put himself in the way in the face of danger too many times but he said he’s a clever man. He certainly is something worth living for. He’s usually family oriented and he wants to go home at the end of an adventure.
