Kenya hosts forum in bid to attract Chinese investment

The Guangzhou and Foshan Business Forum has taken place in the capital, Nairobi. It brought together officials from the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Commerce, Guangzhou and Foshan government officials, the Kenya Investment Authority, businesses and investors from China. The forum encourages Chinese investment in Kenya and promotes economic cooperation between the two nations. Development of special economic zones and export processing zones were tabled. In a bid to steer its economic dependence on agriculture and tourism, Kenya has called on China to invest in the East African nation's growth potential and take advantage of its strategic location.
