Vice President of Korean Music Critics Association. He is the president of Council for Asian Musicology and has published English journal [Asian Musicology] twice in a year from 2002. His work has been funded by the UNESCO and the Korean Arts Promotion Foundation. He was an examiner for World Intangible Heritage for Humanities of UNESCO 2009-2011.
