J.S. Bach: Extracts from 'Coffee Cantata' BWV 211

Two arias from Bach's famous 'Coffee Cantata', composed c.1732-34 (first performed at Zimmermann's Coffee House, Leipzig c.1734): 'Ei! wie schmeckt der Coffee süße' (Ah! how sweet coffee tastes!) and 'Heute noch' (This very day), sung by Carolyn Sampson with the Bach Collegium of Japan conducted by Masaaki Suzuki. Included in the video are rare historic photographs of the interior and exterior of Bach's Leipzig apartment (demolished in 1902).
