JOHNNY HAMP'S KENTUCKY SERENADERS - THE PROMENADE WALK - ROARING 20'S VICTROLA 8-9

This Victor 19756 from August 13, 1925, from the musical production "Artists and Models" was Hamp's first recording. The echo sound implies that this is one of the recordings from the main sanctuary of the old church which Victor had bought in the mid-20's especially for its new electrical recordings. A nice arrangement with banjo at the beginning and some nice doo-wacka-doo in the bargain! The Waring recordings of Mighty Blue and Freshie also have this sound and were made just over two weeks later.
