Johan Cruyff Foundation, ITF and Esther Vergeer visiting South Africa

It has been 10 years since the International Tennis Federation (ITF) and the Cruyff Foundation started working together to stimulate wheelchair tennis in order to empower children. One of the first and most successful countries where the programme is running is South Africa. Our visit to South Africa was part of celebrating this 10-year-partnership. Together with Esther Vergeer we visited wheelchair tennis clinics in Elandsdoorn and Johannesburg to see with our own eyes why it is such a success, to speak with those involved -- not just the representatives and coaches but especially the children who benefit from the programme -- and to record our experiences of this 'best practice'.
