This year we had the pleasure of inviting Jimmy Smith and his wife Jenny Smith from Potosi Missouri to the Inland Northwest in north Idaho for Mountain Havoc 2017. In getting to meet this couple and seeing them for just the few short days of the competition, I personally found them as kind, caring and down to earth people just like the friends and family I have. Something that stuck in my mind and heart was something Jimmy said with cameras off and Jenny not around. Words that were heartfelt and honest and true; how he cared for her no matter what. I could sense a feeling of true genuine love, despite a world so full of shallowness and so many people who don't really know what true love actually is. But Jimmy had true love for Jenny. He was the Real Jimmy Smith as their saying goes, and I could tell she was the Real Jenny Smith. Sadly, a few short weeks later after the Mountain Havoc competition where Jimmy won the Badass Award and donated the prize money to his Charity "The Hero Project", Jenny had a heart attack and passed away on June 18th. I was saddened to hear this and the words Jimmy spoke about her echoed in my thoughts when I read the news. This is my tribute to The Real Jenny Smith. Though I just met her, I felt honored to have gotten the opportunity to have gotten to know the couple briefly, and to have known about their true love for each other. Rest in Peace Jenny.
