JENA 2 cc bluehead model diesel from aprox. 1960

This nice engine is almost as old as me,but start much easyer than me in the morning....Maeby I shoud put also some aerther in my Koffee?. The Carl Zeiss Jena company have a long tradition in making high precision parts mostly for the optical industry.Like lenses,microscopes and cameras& objektives to name a few. They start in the late 40 to make model engines as a byproduct to increase profit .They had the "know how""when its about precision building,no doubt.When I here first of the Jena diesels,In was sure it was a not so good engines,as it was in the former DDR.But I am change my opinion very fast,because they are made very wel.Once I run the 2,5 cc and the prop came of.So it stil runs for a few seconds.Any other diesel engine wil broke the shaft,not so the Jena.I was very happy,it survived my mistake! A unbelievebel expirience. Jena make a lot engines,so too the famouse 1cc with the trumpet intake on the front.This engine I wil run soon too. The most interresting engine from Jena is with no doubt the Zeiss Pionier II from arround 1950.They caled this engine the "U-Boot",as it looks really like a submarine.This is a very rare and exclusive and expencive engine,.... if found.Maeby they are replicas made....love too have him in my collection! ...But my wish list is very long,.....
