Jatropha and relevance of using ISSR marker

This video is about Jatropha and its uses in various ways especially as a biofuel. The oil content of Jatropha crop varies with the genotype and Jatropha curcas is considered as best one for the oil extraction.Because its rich genetic diversity as it is allogamous, it provides opportunity to the breeders to make crosses and come up with desired traits. The next part is about the different markers, the morphological and molecular markers can be used and have been used but the molecular markers are more reliable and stable. Though RAPDs and SSR markers have been used, ISSR marker has proved to be the most reproducible and best for analysis and gives a good result to study the genetic diversity of Jatropha.
