[Japan] Typhoon Maria reaches Category 5 status - July 6, 2018

Typhoon Maria has rapidly intensified overnight, and has now reached Category 5 status northwest of the Mariana Islands. The storm could intensify even further through the course of today before conditions turn slightly less favourable. The storm could still deliver formidable impacts to the Ryukyu islands of Japan next week.
