ITEA APPS Demonstration Port of Rotterdam (Dec 2015)

On December 17, 2015, the ITEA APPS project demonstrated its results and technical achievements to the Port of Rotterdam. At the demo location Radar Post Hartel, the detection and classification of ships was presented. Siqura presented their thermal cameras and the detection of ships on the video feeds. Microflown presented their Acoustic Vector Sensors that analyse the sound signals of ships. ViNotion presented their algorithm for ship classification using complex neural networks. All components were integrated using the Distributed Data Services (DDS) framework under the support of Thalses Netherlands. The information from all algorithmic components were integrated into the Electronic Navigation Charts (ENC) software by GMT. These ENC charts showed the ships in the area using AIS information, and overlayed the detection results from the APPS components.
