As the Internet continues to grow in size and complexity, it has and will continue to redefine human life as we know it. At this junction in our (co)evolution, it is important for us to reflect upon the nature of our new symbiotic relationship. Is the Internet alive, and if it is, what should we do about it? This talk is presented by Dr. Shiva Amin, an assistant professor in the Biology department at the University of St. Thomas in Houston, Texas. He currently studies biological systems ranging from nanoscopic proteins to macroscopic ecosystems using field, laboratory and computational techniques.
