Iraq on Thursday (27/11) said it would bar members of the UN disarmament commission (UNSCOM) from visiting presidential sites as parliament called for a six month deadline for completion of all UN weapons inspections.
The announcement comes just a day after Iraq invited international inspections of President Saddam Hussein's palaces to prove they did not hide biological or chemical weapons.
Meanwhile, the paramilitary group Fedayeen of Saddam (Saddam's commandos who are ready to sacrifice themselves) led by the Iraqi president's son, Uday, held another parade in Baghdad to show willing that the Iraqi people are ready to defend themselves from any US military attack.
Iraq's National Assembly held an emergency session to debate the worsening food and medicine crisis. A UN aid agency reported that despite recent exemptions in food sanctions against Iraq, nearly 1 million Iraqi children were still suffering from chronic malnutrition.
