On July 31, 2009, the outstanding Chilean band Inti-Illimani played a memorable concert at Americas Society for a capacity audience. The group revisited some of their classic hits, including Victor Jara's Vientos del pueblo and Hamlet Lima Quintana and René Cosentino's Juanito Laguna remonta un barrilete, and also performed music from their latest albums, such as their own Rondombe and the rousing cumbia, Sobre tu playa, which closed the concert. In some songs, the Intis were joined by Canadian singer Francesca Gagnon, known for her work in Cirque du Soleil's Alegria.
