International Women's Day: Dr Gelareh Zadeh, Part 1

While we are celebrating how far we’ve come in gender equality on International Women’s Day, the matter of fewer women pursuing careers in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) compared to men remains a pressing issue. A free event, co-presented by University Health Network (UHN) on International Women’s Day, aims to help change that. #PressForProgress: Closing the gap for Women in STEM will feature a panel of women with backgrounds in technology, research, and entrepreneurship who will share their professional experiences and ways to start making a shift towards closing this gap. Dr. Gelareh Zadeh, the Head of Surgical Oncology at UHN and neurosurgeon-scientist at Princess Margaret Cancer Centre, will speak at the conference about her experiences in the field.
