Plaster, it's everywhere you want to be
Does the metal lath have to be perfect? No! But do the best you can!
Hello everyone, on this rooftop I explain how to install the stucco netting, "lath," before stucco.
I'm not suggesting you make an eyesore out of pieces. Instead, I'm saying that if the wire is not perfect, it’s o.k. as long As the paper or weather barrier is watertight and the stucco netting is furred correctly and tied into itself (overlapped) at least 2 inches or so, whereas there are no cold joints.
And most importantly the netting is not past the 1 inch of stucco that will be applied!
How to install stucco netting over a weather-resistive barrier, It best to be neat, however, you can use pieces and parts to achieve the same thing without compromising the integrity of the lath.
I had 2 people in the last month ask me if it was absolutely necessary to attach stucco netting with one piece and perfectly horizontal. (No it’s not) but do the best you can.
"Warning: I make this look way easier than it actually is."
