The themes discussed in the afternoon break-out sessions included schools and neighborhoods, conceptualizing ethnic and racial issue constructs in diverse samples, and immigrant families.

This discussion was part of a larger event titled “Conceptualizing and measuring culture, context, race and ethnicity: A focus on science, ethics, and collaboration in the Spirit of 2044” was held on Wednesday, March 20, 2019 as part of the Pre-Conference events prior to the start of the 2019 SRCD Biennial Meeting in Baltimore, Maryland, USA (March 21 – 23, 2019). The Spirit of 2044 pre-conference was organized by the SRCD Ethnic & Racial Issues Committee (Dawn P. Witherspoon and Gabriela Livas Stein), in collaboration with the SRCD Equity and Justice Committee and the SRCD Asian, Black, and Latino Caucuses.
