India Prime Minister, Narendra Modi met the President of Afghanistan, Ashraf Ghani on Thursday, June 13, on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization summit in Bishkek. Modi, who is on a two-day visit to Kyrgyzstan, held his third bilateral meeting of the day after meeting and holding talks with Chinese President, Xi Jinping and Russian President, Vladimir Putin earlier on Thursday India and Afghanistan share a strong relationship. India has been one of Afghanistan's biggest allies in the war against the Taliban, training thousands of security personnel. New Delhi has also played a significant role in the reconstruction and rehabilitation of Afghanistan. (Reuters)
