After air... Water is the most essential need of life. But, despite the Earth's surface being covered by about 70% water, the world doesn't have adequate drinking water. Only 3% water on the planet is fresh. According to a UN report, global demand for fresh water will exceed supply by 40% in 2030 owing to a number of factors like climate change, rapid grown in population and massive urbanisation. Today, over one billion people lack access to clean drinking water - India being home to the highest number of such people.
