Contact Anna on collaboration and coaching sessions questions : [email protected] I’m Anna! And this is the “English Fluency journey” There's a little mistake in the word MEADOW)) (missed on letter) So, in this video I want to talk about weekends and vocabulary we can use to describe it to our companion. About words and expressions we can use to talk about our holidays. Because weekends are a huge topic of conversations. SLEEP IN, CHILL OUT AT HOME means to stay at home and rest. The weekend is two days Saturday and Sunday. Sometimes we can hear something like “A long weekend” it’s a weekend that has at least three days due to a public holiday falling on either the Friday or Monday. When you want to ask someone about their plans for the weekend, you can use questions like: Do you have anything going on this weekend? What are you doing this weekend? And when the weekend is over, you can ask: How was your weekend? What did you GET UP TO to this weekend?( to be busy with something, especially something surprising or unpleasant) Did you do anything fun over the weekend? (during the weekend?) These are good conversation starters. As a respond you can hear something like: I went out with my friends (which means that you left the house and went somewhere, especially to do something enjoyable) I had to caught up on work! (to catch up on smth to do something that you have not been able to do recently) means that you had to do some work! I was at the wedding on weekend and it was pretty low keyed (Having low intensity) means that it was small quiet party!
