Ousted premier Yingluck Shinawatra has hit out at impeachment proceedings which could result in her being banned from politics for 5 years. The charges, which Ms Shinawatra has disputed, are centred around her role in a controversial rice subsidy scheme in 2011, which critics have said cost billions of dollars. Security has been tightened around parliament ahead of the decision, expected on Friday. 8 months ago military officers seized power of the country and promised to introduce 'true democracy'. We spoke to Thailand's Deputy PM Pridiyathorn Devakula.
