Every Sunday Mariah Holmes, 27, makes the trip from Riverside to Carson to train in a backroom of a sports store. Holmes is one of the country top female sumo wrestlers who will be making her second appearance at the 19th annual US Sumo Open on March 23rd. This is the largest, longest-running sumo tournament in the world outside of Japan and is held at Walter Pyramid on the Cal State Long Beach campus. The wrestling event attracts top sumo wrestlers from around the globe.
