I Came For Silver... But Went Home With Gold

In this metal detecting episode I will show you a few impressions from my work at a side loaded with iron. I then skip this (probably) boring part and take you with me on a "proper" hunt. I came to this place to try a new setting. I tested a few Deus parameters with a tiny silver coin and old nails. It worked great at my home table... unfortunately not so much in the field. What sounded like a silver coin at home, turned out to be iron only in real conditions. Air-tests and the real world are two different things. I knew that (that's why I'm always against air-tests), but I tried to fool myself this time. At some point I had enough and switched to my old trusty setting (with tone-DISC set to "3"). It looks like I have done a pretty good job the first time. The elliptical coil could not find a second silver coin - maybe it was simply not there... I wasted time extracting iron in very difficult conditions (on soil loaded with big stones in the heat, surrounded by mosquitoes and ticks). After having realized that, I decided to abort this frustrating task and hunt a little bit in my "normal mode". I could find a few targets here and there (I really wasn't expecting it). Even a few coins popped out. My psychic powers were strong that day. I was able to walk easily from target to target (with surprisingly many round items). At some point another round object came out of the ground. I had to look twice to recognize what it was. Well, it was a ring, a gold ring. Somehow I wasn't "moved" by it very much. I was of course happy, but at that day it felt for some reason, like just another target. My last signal was huge. Probably a big, deep object. Unfortunately I had to catch my train. I marked the position and will try to come back for it some day. Maybe it's a pot full of coins... Who knows. UPDATE: I came back to both spots. For the gold ring gem and for the big item.
