Comparing Huawei's P30 Pro camera tech versus Samsung's Galaxy S10 Plus and Google's Pixel 3 XL, to see which Android flagship smartphone boasts the best photo and video quality in 2019.
I've been testing the P30 Pro ahead of my full review, and of course that upgraded camera hardware is one of the biggest talking points. So I've been shooting everyday stuff with Huawei's phone, plus the Galaxy S10+ and Pixel 3XL to see which offers the best features and results.
Google's handset is the only one here not to serve up a triple-lens rear camera - and Huawei's big update is that new periscope telephoto lens, offering a 5x optical zoom and 10x hybrid lossless zoom. In comparison, the S10 Plus only manages 2x optical zoom. Both the P30 Pro and the Galaxy also sport an ultra-wide angle lens too, for a very different viewpoint.
However, the Pixel 3 XL still excels in some key areas. You get great looking HDR photos more consistently, while the excellent night mode and portrait mode help to keep this one of the best camera phones in 2019. That said, the P30 Pro is even better at night, while also producing slick-looking everyday shots. And the S10+ can't be beat for video recording.
