There are many phones that claim they do not support anything bigger than 32GB. In most cases that is not true. The reason why they do not support greater than 32GB is because all microSD cards are formatted via the exFAT FileSystem by default out of the box. And these phones may not support a 64GB card formatted in exFAT, but will support the same 64GB formatted in another File System. If you format a 64GB or 128GB using the FAT32 File System, in most cases the phone will recognize the SD Card and its full 64GB or 128GB capacity. The 32 in FAT32 does not mean it will make a 64GB or 128GB a 32GB, the FAT32 is simply the name of the File system. A file System is a method and structure of organization of files and folders and how they are index, searched and retrieved. So formatting a 64GB Card using the FAT32 FileSystem will still allow you access to all 64GB. However each File System Format has its limitations, in the case of the FAT32, the largest single file supported is a 4GB file. So you can not copy or create files larger than 4GB on FAT32. FAT32 has been around for over 20 years and so, it is widely known and supported. Remember when you reformat a sd card, it erases all information on the sd card, since its creating a new structure to store files and folders. Note if your system does not recognize after the initial format, try using the 8K allocation size when formatting.
