How to upgrade RAM memory for the ASUS x453M

This is an instructional video on how to replace the RAM memory for your Asus x453M. It is particularly hard to get to the RAM inside your Asus x453M however this can be done with a little patience. You don't need to go to the shop and pay for an expensive service. I brought my 8GB RAM module from OFFTEK: https://www.offtek.co.uk/asus/laptop-memory-upgrades/x-series/x553ma-ram I brought my precision multi-bit screw driver set from ACENIX: http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00HBXL4F4... Here are step-by-step instructions: 1) Turn laptop with the back facing up 2) Unscrew all the screws note: screws at the top are longer 3) Turn laptop around 4) Using a plastic object carefully separate keyboard from casing note: I used an expired credit card to not cause any damage 5) Carefully disconnect the two wires connecting the keyboard 6) Remove the keyboard 7) Touch your hand on some metal to remove static from your hand before touching any circuit board 8) Disconnect battery 9) Unscrew and remove battery 10) Disconnect sound board and fan cables 11) Unscrew and remove hard drive 12) Carefully disconnect wireless card cable 13) Unscrew motherboard 14) Carefully lift motherboard to get to the RAM module note: leave the monitor connected note: the wireless card will fall out of the socket due to poor design 15) Replace RAM module with new RAM module note: make sure RAM is properly connected 16) Place wireless card back in socket and carefully place motherboard back in original position 17) Assemble laptop back together note: don't forget to re-connect wireless card cable, sound card and fan cables Enjoy a faster laptop!
