How to update the firmware on your wireless range extender using the NETGEAR support website.
Make sure that the extender is powered up and connected to the router’s Wi-Fi.
Using your laptop, find and connect to the extender’s wireless network.
Once connected to the extender, open a browser and navigate to support.netgear.com
Enter your model number.
Click on “Downloads”.
Select the firmware version that you want.
And then click on “Download”.
When the download finishes, open its destination folder and extract the contents.
Back on your web browser navigate to http://mywifiext.net and login to the extender’s interface.
Click on “firmware update”, browse for the file that you extracted and select it.
Then click on “Upload”.
Please be patient, this will take a little while.
The Extender will reboot to complete the update.
Your computer will lose connection while the extender reboots.
After the extender boots up, you can reconnect to the extender’s wi-fi.
Optionally, you can return to the extender’s interface to confirm that everything worked out.
