This is gunsmithing 101. If you cannot figure out the caliber the gun in which you are working on, you better just hang up your glock armorers certificate because any gunsmith worth his sauce can do this with his eyes closed and with great precision. Many milsurps and older guns were not marked in any way, so, determining the caliber of bore and chamber dimensions is critical in proper loading and shooting of a gun. Safety is always in the back of the mind of a responsibler shooter. Hope this video helps!
Bill of materials:
Gun of unknown caliber of bore
Bore Light/Light Source
Remoil/Lube
1/4 dowel (minimum 3 ft long) cut into 4-6" lengths
Non-marring hammer
Vice with non-marring/soft jaws
lead round balls (.35 caliber or something larger than the muzzle)
