How to: Manual Transmission Upshifting Clutch Release

When you are not stuck in bumper to bumper traffic you do not need to do those super slow clutch releases. If you are having problems with the upshift clutch release it is very easy if you "2 step" it. Bring clutch up from floor you will feel it engage then bring your foot totally off. Unless you are racing don't pop your foot off straight from the floor or you will put a lot of shock into your clutch and drive train and possibly destroy your clutch disk, very easy to do on factory original clutches especially one on a light flywheel. The springs used to dampen vibrations will rip out and jam your clutch not allowing it to release. If your clutch is worn or you cannot feel your engagement point so well then bring up the clutch smooth for the first couple of inches then bring it off. Try not to do very slow clutch releases because they slow down your shift and and are not needed if you are not stuck in traffic.
