How to Make Wood Rings with Veneer

How to make wooden rings otherwise known as bentwood rings without fancy tools! All you need is some veneer, a knife, CA glue (super glue/krazy glue) and some sandpaper. These rings get their strength from the layers of veneer and glue. Because they are layered they are much stronger than a ring turned on a lathe with a hold drilled out. Anybody can make these rings as they are super easy and quick to produce. My wife and I wear these as our wedding rings. Since they are made of wood they will need some care and refinishing once in a while. In this example I'm using sapele and maple as I like the contrast of the two woods. If you're using a drill bit as your template you'll need to find the equivalent bit size in MM. Ring sizes in MM can be found here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ring_size Subscribe for weekly woodworking projects: http://www.youtube.com/user/drunkenwoodworker?sub_confirmation=1 Details, photos and plans for this woodworking project: https://goo.gl/qsa6Vv TOOLS / SUPPLIES (Affiliate) CA Glue: http://amzn.to/1nyruaL X-ACTO Knive: http://amzn.to/1kGzzeM Veneer: http://amzn.to/1kGzCHE SUPER SUPPORT / EXTENDED VIDEOS / GIVEAWAYS http://patreon.com/picciuto MAKE SOMETHING 2 | VLOG CHANNEL https://www.youtube.com/c/makesomething2 PROJECTS, PLANS AND TUTORIALS https://makesomething.tv/ FOLLOW ME: https://twitter.com/drunkenwood https://instagram.com/MakeSomethingTV https://www.facebook.com/MakeSomethingTV https://www.pinterest.com/MakeSomethingTV/ David Picciuto PO Box 2499 Toledo, OH 43606 © Picciuto, LTD
