About this video: This video a step-by-step guide to creating a Minecraft 1.13 server. This will show you everything you need to know to make a server in Minecraft 1.13. You need to know how to start a Minecraft server in order to play Minecraft 1.13 with your friends. Thus, this video also shows you how to play Minecraft 1.13 with your friends.
Making a Minecraft server is actually pretty easy in 1.13. First off, you need to download the Minecraft server file from Mojang directly. You can find the Minecraft 1.13 server download linked above. Next, you need to create a folder and put that server file into it. Then, just double-click on the server file you downloaded. This will load in a few files including one called 'EULA'. Open the 'EULA' file and read the EULA. If you agree to it, change 'EULA=false' to 'EULA=true'. Save this text document and close out of it.
Now, double-click on the 1.13 server file you downloaded again. This will create everything else you need for your server. From here, you or anyone else on your home internet can join the server, but I don't know about you. My friends don't live with me, so I need them to be able to join the server from there house. To do this, we will need to port forward.
Port forwarding is very easy. Just find your default gateway, type that into your browser, login to your router, and find port forwarding. Once you are there, you need to make a new port forward and call it 'Minecraft'. For your ports make them both '25565', and for the protocol you need TCP/UDP or 'Both'. Whichever you have is correct. Once you've done that, save and apply the port forward, and congrats! You have now port forwarded a Minecraft 1.13 server.
From here, you get your public IP join your server, and once yu've done that, just give your public IP to your friends. They'll type it into Minecraft just like any other server IP, and they'll join right into Minecraft 1.13 with you! Congratulations! You now know how to make a Minecraft 1.13 server.
