How To Install Schwalbe Marathon Plus Tires Bike Blogger

A few tips for installing Schwalbe Marathon Plus tires. It can be tricky to mount the tire without pinching the tube, especially near the valve so be careful! Push the valve against the tire tube when mounting to give yourself more slack and avoid a pinch. When finished mounting make sure the valve can move up and down freely and the tube is not stuck between the wheel rim and tire wire bead. Once you verified the valve can move freely up and down, and the tire if completely mounted, pull the valve all the way out of the rim firmly and as far as possible before screwing on the retaining nut and pumping up the tire fully. I would also suggest you use tire tubes sized just large enough for your tire. For instance, if you have a 25mm tire like me, get tubes rated for 20mm up to 25mm (20-25cc).
