I’m showing with a 16’ x 48” round pool, but if your pool is of a different size, the instructions are mainly the same. The pool should be installed on a level ground. Remove any sharp objects that may puncture your pool liner. At least 2 people are needed to lift the pool liner. Do not drag the pool. Unfold the liner and make sure the 2 filter connecting holes are facing in the right direction. Start by inserting the horizontal beams with the flat side up into the sleeves and connect them each with the T-joints. Go around this way until you finish the whole circle. For the last T-joint, lift both horizontal beams on both sides a little. Add the vertical legs into the T-joints the same way until they snap into place. Make sure the legs go inside the liner and inside the rope if you have one. Put a cap at the bottom of each leg. If the pool is not facing the right spot, call a few people to help you rotate the pool. Once done, pull each leg and make sure it’s straight. If you already started to fill the pool with water, make sure you complete this part before the water level reaches the lower hole in the liner. I’m showing how to install the Intex Krystal Clear sand filter pump. Connect the threaded strainer - the one with the grid - into the lower hole in the pool liner, the pool outlet. Make sure the flat washer is on the inside of the pool. Tighten it with the strainer nut. Likewise, connect the nozzle from the inside of the higher hole in the pool liner, the pool inlet, again making sure that the flat washer is on the inside of the pool liner. Tighten it with the strainer nut. Connect both plunger valves to both the pool inlet and the pool outlet. Install the pump and filter per your manual’s instructions. My filter already has glass media inside and that is good for 5 years so I don’t have to deal with it now. Connect one hose from the pool outlet to the pump inlet and one hose from the filter outlet to the pool inlet. Connect the small hose between motor outlet and filter inlet. If you’ve put talcum powder before storing your pool at the end of last summer (as we’ve suggested in our pool take down video), clean it up now. If you have some lotion to prevent algae, put some in water and clean the pool walls with it. Fill the pool with water. Once you have a few inches of water, get inside the pool and straighten the liner on the floor of the pool as much as possible. Filling up the pool will take a long time, depending on the water pressure in your pipes. Once the pool is full of water, operate your filter. There are some prep steps first. Put the 6-way valve into the N position. Open the drain cap - I recommend to buy an extra hose to direct the water from the drain into an appropriate drain receptacle. Open the air release valve on the pump and now open both plunger valves. Once water comes out of the air release, close this valve. Put the 6-way valve into the BACKWASH position and turn on the pump. Water will start flowing through the drain outlet. You should let it flow until the water that comes out is clean. Turn off the pump. Put the 6-way valve into the RINSE position and turn the pump back on, once again water will flow out of the drain outlet. This will level the sand bed. Leave it this way for about 1 minute then turn the pump back off. Put the 6-way valve into the FILTER position, turn the pump back on and check that there is a strong flow of clean water from the filter into the pool. You can remove the drain hose and put the drain cap back on. Every now and then, check the water pressure in the filter - if it’s too high (in the yellow zone) the filter media is too dirty and needs to be cleaned. Follow the exact same steps from this paragraph. Check the charts in your filter manual to see how long your filter should be working each day, depending on the size of your pool. The pool is now ready!
