In this project I fitted a piezo pickup and preamp into a cheap acoustic guitar. The preamp also has the addition of a microphone socket making it very flexible. The results are an acoustic guitar that can be plugged straight into a mixing desk or effects for easy recording or good live performance. The preamp was an unbranded one that was bought off Ebay directly from Hong Kong. To find the preamp on eBay search 'Acoustic Guitar Preamp EQ LC-5' I replaced the microphone provided with a Sony ECM-DS70P because it made a noticeable improvement to the sound and the background noise.
