How exactly did a smaller German Army, with in many cases inferior equipment, manage to embarrass two of the worlds most powerful nations in just six weeks?
This video is the first in a new series which I am calling 'The History behind Hearts of Iron', exploring the history underpinning HoI4.
It's been a couple of months in the works now, so I'm hoping that you guys enjoy this kind of content. If you do, please don't hesitate to let me know, so I can make more and more videos like this.

Lloyd Clark, Blitzkrieg (London: Atlantic Books, 2016).
Anthony Beevor, The Second World War.
In addition I used a couple of website for basic factual information where I was satisfied with their own citations, and used the YouTube Channel 'Military History Visualised' for their approximations of how many troops were in German Infantry and
Panzer Divisions, to give a rough approximation of the size of German Army Groups.
