Horizontal Directional Drilling | How it works for water

https://studiolex.nl/ This animation shows how Horizontal Directional Drilling works for drilling non-vertical wells (does not resemple how you do horizontal drilling in the oil buisiness)
Obstacles and other objects can be by-passed using this computer controlled technique. With HDD, the drilling equipment, which connects to the drilling tube on the surface, pulls the cable, casing pipes or pipeline through the ground. This avoids the need for costly excavation.
The drilling process is divided into 3 steps:
1. Pilot (drill head or drill bit)
2. Reaming (by a fly-cutter)
3. Pull-in (barrel reamer)
